The Dare 2 Be Different Victory Centre team continues to carry out its mandates. One such mandate is to spread the message of Jesus Christ to every community, every door, every person across the world using creative, innovative, technological methods on the ground and using the technology, to ensure that world hears about Jesus before he returns.
When youth and adults arrived at The Dare 2 Be Different International Victory Centre at Boyds - St. Kitts today 24th March, 2013, they were looking around for the typical tent and chairs. Rev. Khrystus Wallace told the church that today was being celebrated around the world as Palm Sunday and Jesus' ministry was to constantly walk to the communities and villages and share hope, and that their church would follow a mandate to operate its ministry just like Jesus did, not by staying in the four walls.
Wallace told the church that when the Federation looks at their ministry, and the world too, they must notice that they are the church that goes out to catch the fish and not stay in the boat, docked and wait for the fish to hop in because that method of church wasn't Biblical.
Rev. Khrystus taught the Palm Sunday story for about five minutes on his ministry's Public Address System, while his congregation stood. He told his congregation about the words Hosanna before leading them into several open air stops in the Trinity Parish Community - St. Kitts, where the congregation sang, the children and youths got readily involved and Rev. Wallace - the only preacher attached to the ministry thus far, almost lost his voice preaching at several spots.
The Victory Centre still didn't go over its 1 hour service time from 8:30am - 9:30am, and everyone then assembled back at the base for the weekly Victory Breakfast after the weekly 1 hour service. At the breakfast, this is where folks usually socialize by talking, watching television, playing the computers, ordering online and shipping through www.shopandshipskn.com just for a donation to the ministry, before leaving for home.
This is the 4th Service of The Newest Church in St. Kitts - Nevis, and even without a bus as yet, folks are coming from all around St. Kitts and finding ways to get their children and youths apart of Wallace Creative and Innovative Bible Study on Wednesday's at 7pm, The Victor's Club (Kid's Club) - Thursday's at 5pm and Youth's Rock (Youth Fellowship) - 6:30pm every Friday.
The Service Video Clip above, from today, was taped by a first time visitor (an unsaved youth from The Newtown Community - a ghetto village in St. Kitts) who heard about the new church and contacted Wallace to pick him up earlier in the week.
Rev. Khrystus, who fulfilled the promise and collected the youth said that the fact that he reached out FIRST meant that he wanted a difference in his life and he was going to start using him IMMEDIATELY. Wallace asked the youth how he heard about his ministry and he said, "Everybody talking about Dare 2 Be Different and The Blazing Star Movement. People in my family get your emails on their phones. Who doesn't know about KVK. Everybody talking about how you helping youths with the PEP program and they learning and doing so much. I want to just hang round you to. I want something rub off." Wallace smiled.
Upon arriving at The Boyds - St. Kitts Church for the first time, Wallace quickly gave the young man a crash course in media and then gave him his video camera and blackberry phone to take videos and pictures of the Palm Sunday Street Event.
The young man said, "Wallace - already? I just come? Next week. Next Week." Wallace responded - "You said you don't go to church, so I didn't want next week to come and I don't see you again. I don't care how the videos and pictures come out, there is hope for you and I am giving you that chance.
By the way, you now work on our media committee and you are responsible for video taping all of our events for ever from now on. We also have a ministry that is supposed to carry other church events and other activities live around the world. It has been dormant or what we call sleeping for the last 3 years and I am giving it to you as a job. When churches or people call to carry their crusade or event live on the internet around the Caribbean - I will aready teach you all I know and I'll be sending you all across the Caribbean with who ever you teach and employ, to carry their events live on www.skngospellive.com. Don't worry, we book our own tickets."
The young man did do a wonderful job taking dozens of pictures and videos and walking the community and helping with the children on his first day at The Dare 2 Be Different Victory Centre. At the end, he told Wallace that he had made him feel like he was a member of the church for years and he couldn't wait for the next event later in the week.
He said, "me arm, look how easy it is to learn a skill, get a whole job to run dat website like its my own business just by coming to your church. I'll tell all my friends about what ya'll doing down here to help the youths. I hope you could help dem to Mr. Wallace, because I got alot of badman going be coming you way soon. Ain dat we bad you know, is what people call us because we hang on the street with nothing to do. We just need someone to look out for us like you doing and motivate us and fill us with all dem positive vibes. Imagine I'm de camera man for de church and I just come. No church wudda do dat. I just come and I'm a big man in de church. Now I gotta be an example for de youths - you check."
Rev. Wallace got a daps!
There again, just by spreading the message of the Kingdom, Rev. Khrystus has added another youth to his church. An at risk youth that the police certainly wouldn't have to be dealing with and the magistrates would never see because he reached out to attend The Dare 2 Be Different Victory Centre and would come to know Jesus as Saviour some day soon.
Rev. Wallace - a radical youth advocate is really creatively working. He doesn't have a typical CHURCH CLOTHES DRESS CODE, although he dresses in a shirt and tie.
Rev. Wallace constantly reminds his congregation that he was a CHURCH PLANTER and has intentions of travelling the globe and the church was never HIS CHURCH - but THE CHURCH OF AND FOR THE YOUTHS and they must begin to work now to keep it alive and show him that they are capable of doing that. Wallace constantly asks each youth where they want to serve. While many say in the dance ministry and other ministries, a 9 year old always keeps repeating that he wants to be the preacher as many of the youths laugh. Wallace has instructed them not to laugh. It was the child's dream and he too got saved at 10 years old when Brother Bob Holbert from North Carolina - USA taught a Vacation Bible School Session. Brother Khrystus plans to put the little bob in contact with Brother Bob via Facebook - so he can help to mold the boy, just as he molded him.
Rev. Khrystus will start doing Bible studies one on one with the youth and tells his 4 week old congregation, that when God was ready, he believed that this would be one of the Federation's youngest ordained ministers because his ministry would NEVER HOLD back anyone who was riping and growing and ready to bear fruit, especially because of his personal story.
The youth have been helping around the church as it was really their church. All Wallace practically does is Preach, execute or temporarily put a hold on some of the events the youth plan.
The Youths plan their events, clean the surroundings, cook when they are hungry, share the computers, come for free homework help and classes under the ministry's EACH ONE HELP ONE PROGRAM where Wallace helps the older youth with CXC subjects and projects for free and they in return help those under them for free.
The Youths have started to mark the names of those who attend church - adults too, claiming that people couldn't be apart of the BIG EVENTS if they are not apart of church. (Something Wallace has smiled about and would only step down on if they got extremely serious and vindictive. He said it was fun and exciting to see the youths getting involved in church politics and putting their own policies in place. The youths will seemingly write their own church constitution.)
Rev. Wallace strongly believes that churches should also be empowerment agencies and get youths more readily involved. He says that when that happens, folks - both youths and adults would be more excited to be apart rather than just attend as a ritual.
26 year old Rev. Wallace who has been quite active leading children's ministry since 15, said that over the years, he had listened to the youths tell him personally that church was becoming very boring, doing the same thing over and over and over again with no difference, no excitement, no flavour. Wallace took their words and decided that Dare 2 Be Different International will be the difference makers since 2008 and have stood out not only in St. Kitts - Nevis, but in every country where they have opened - USA - www.daretobedifferentusa.com, Kenya - www.daretobedifferentkenya.com, Ghana - www.daretobedifferentghana.com, St. Vincenet & The Grenadines - www.daretobedifferentsvg.com
Wallace believes that no ministry should change the MESSAGE at all, but constantly change the METHOD of delivery just to lead a soul to Christ and keep youths and adults empowered. Wallace cautioned Pastors adn Churches saying that churches that don't move fast to change their METHOD of DELIVERY, especially to reach the youth around the world, would see a drop in attendance gradually and such churches may also be the reason why people return to living a life of sin and life in the world
