Having asked the congregation to read with him the entire Psalm 46, he boldly proclaimed, "GOD IS OUR REFUGE!"
Elder Thompson reminded his audience of the tragic happenings in Paris, France and encouraged the believers in St. Kitts to PRAY for the situation, and not be afraid even though things seem to be getting worst.
The preacher was frank as he delivered. "If you're not for God, you are for the devil. Satan sometimes appears as the most beautiful of individuals, but his plans are cunning and he's desperately wicked and only wants to destroy."
Elder Thompson ensured that he dropped in some words of hope directly after that statement. Words of hope from Romans 8:31, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
More scriptures of HOPE were postulated from the pulpit by Elder Thompson to a seemingly concerned audience.
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Elder Thompson then turned the service over to Elder Evelyn who thanked him for sharing what God had laid on his heart and led the closing song.
All in all, those in attendance, as those reading now were reminded, GOD IS OUR REFUGE - YOU NEED NOT FEAR!
