And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den. (Daniel 6:24 KJV)
Are you sometimes tempted to take matters into your own hands when people harass you? - Don't!
The tables will one day turn. Very, very, very soon!
Much of the conversations with young people, both male and female, have to do with discouraging them from taking matters into their own hands. Just this week past, a young lady, with her young child in her hand, had to be encouraged not to let the quarrel between the two turn into a fight.
My words to her were, "take it cool, take it light, things will work out." I believe I can very well understand her rage inside, for at times we all feel like that when we are harassed and stressed out by others trying to keep us down or humiliate us.
There is a lesson that we can all learn from Daniel when people rose up against him. His simple solution to the problem was to PRAY. When Daniel prayed, he didn't get an answer immediately. The King didn't revoke his decree instantly. It took some time and Daniel Never Stopped Praying. God allowed him to reach to a near death experience before showing up and delivering.
The point here is - "God didn't leave his child to suffer and die - He Came to his Rescue."
He will do the very same for you in the middle of your deepest trial. Don't Stop Praying! Be like Daniel, Don't Give Up!
I like this part of the story very much. The king sent for those who wanted to do Daniel harm, along with their families and fed them to the lions. What a sumptuous meal. What does this mean for you as a believer? You need not take matters into your own hands. Sooner or later, your enemies will be destroyed - Sooner or later the Tables will Turn.
God will take care of your enemies while you stand still and look on.
Keep your head on and your hopes up!
