Church should be about REACH and IMPACT - Not Numbers!

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

The book of Mark recounts that Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome headed to the tomb of Jesus on what is now called Resurrection Day around the world, to anoint his body with sweet spices. This was a custom or norm in that part of the world, as to preserve a dead body for as long as possible and historians state that it worked quite well indeed.

Having reached the tomb, they immediately became fearful as the stone was rolled away and further more, angels informed them that Jesus had risen from the dead and they went quickly with that story to the disciples who believed them not.

It is only when the risen Jesus appeared to the eleven himself, they believed. Jesus' comments are quite note worthy. He gives ONE  main commandment - Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

It is quite sad that many churches across St. Kitts - Nevis, the wider Caribbean region and the world seem to have forgotten that commandment as we put our focus on many other things such as building the largest churches, attracting the biggest crowd, collecting the most tithes and offerings and failing to assist and encourage our members and attendees in times of need.

How foolhardy!

Then we question why our world is heading to the dogs? The church is partially responsible! We have lost all focus on getting persons to BELIEVE  ONLY on God - Mark 16:16 He that BELIEVETH and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Too many of us as ministers of the gospel have lost focus on getting persons to BELIEVE on GOD and have put all our efforts and focus unto pulling down OTHERS, criticizing members, throwing words from the pulpit and so on. People need encouragement and love and care and attention if they are to grow into spiritually successful beings.

Once we properly plant and properly ground our members and attendees in CHRIST and teach them how to walk in the SPIRIT, we would be guaranteed a much better people and a much better world. We would be sure that they would be able to withstand any storm and trial or trap the enemy sets.

Is this happening? I hasten to say NO!

Do many pastors, evangelists, ministers of the gospel, laymen, Sunday School teachers care ALOT anymore about OTHERS? Think and answer for yourself!

Are we doing it because it has just become a NORM - a tradition - a part of our lives? Or are we doing the work of CHRIST simply for publicity? For Fame? For Attention? For Travel and Money Opportunities?

Examine the ministry that you are apart of? Is it reaching and impacting others? Are people really starting to follow Christ or do they seem to just come to church for the show, to show off their clothes, see how others are dressed and to see how much news they can get from the preacher at the moment, because he or she likes to address others from the pulpit and not help them fix their ways in secret?

I have always told my following. Whether one or two people come or no one comes, Dare 2 Be Different International will have church and have all its activities as Church should be about REACH and IMPACT - Not Numbers!

At Dare To Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com, we try our best not to JUDGE OTHERS  AND  THEIR  LIFESTYLES, but primarily guide them spiritually. Honestly, the only honest thing we need to do to get into heaven is to BELIEVE  ON  GOD and mean it from the heart. We do go the extra mile and help our youth and adults add little tidbits here and there to become well rounded individuals, but we DO NOT STRESS anyone to conform, we believe that is the Holy Spirit's job and God would speak to each person individually since He lives in their heart.

As we focus a lot on outreach, we definitely realize that youth are becoming wiser and asking questions and no longer accept everything they hear WHOLESALE.

One statement from a youth on the street corner caused me to recognize the wisdom that we have to deal with now. If we as ministers of religion aren't properly trained, then our nation and world is doomed. YES DOOMED and it will be partially OUR  FAULT.

The youth said, "I believe in JAH and I'm going to heaven. The Bible says all you have to do is to BELIEVE and show love!" He continued, and I listened, "Christianity is just a SECT. It started out well in the New Testament in the BIBLE, but it has now become one of the most CORRUPT and CONFUSING religions in the world. You can't see, it's everyday a new church starting with a new belief. Ya'll confusing people."

I didn't interrupt, I just continued listening. The youth, no more than twenty one years continued. "Some Christians say that you should go to church on Saturday, while others on Sunday. Some say you must wear hats and others say women shouldn't wear pants. Some say that women mustn't be active while some women are preaching in the church. I use to go to church with my mother you know, but the whole Christianity thing is so confusing and its becoming more confusing day by day. Some say you must talk in tongues to get in the spirit and others condemn talking in tongues. Who is really right - KVK? I know who I am and I ain't doing anything wrong and I believe in God and I am going to heaven and no one could tell me otherwise."

"I am going to heaven KVK. I am going to heaven. I BELIEVE in GOD. I do my best to show love and I don't need to become a CHRISTIAN to follow GOD and go to heaven. You're doing a good work, but if you trying to get me come a CHRISTIAN, I ain't mixing up to be confused anymore."

I shook the young man's hand and told him that I completely understood his reasoning and his view. Now you get an idea why our young people are starting out in CHURCH and leaving? Modern day CHRISTIANITY has become totally confusing. We seem now, as ministers of the gospel, to care only about numbers, gossiping, criticizing and pulling down others instead of RESTORING SUCH AN ONE, and not about REACHING, IMPACTING and DISCIPLING anymore.

Our Global Dare To Be Different International Ministry - www.daretobedifferentskn.com is DIFFERENT!

We use the K.I.S.S Strategy! (Keep It Simple Stupid). With this strategy, we welcome, appreciate and love ALL. No matter what you've been through, what people are saying about you, whether you come from a rich or poor family. We love ALL!

We keep the message of salvation EASY. BELIEVE  ON  GOD, DO  RIGHT  AND  DO  GOOD and you shall make it into heaven. We DO NOT make it complex.

The world is changing fast! While the message of GOD and Jesus the Messiah must NEVER change, At Dare 2 Be Different International, we firmly believe that in order to impact a lost and dying world, our METHODS and THINKING must change and YES  WE  CONTINUE  TO  CHANGE!

We still believe in God! We still believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the greatest person who ever walked the earth! We still believe in the Holy Spirit! We still believe in heaven or hell, but we cannot and will not continue going around condemning OTHERS, criticizing and backbiting and pulling down others as a CHURCH, then smiling and hugging and pretending to show love  in front of faces. We will no longer practice that and preach that and live that. Not at Dare 2 Be Different International.

We are about REACHING and IMPACTING and LOVING others! Not Judging as we are DIFFERENT!

Church should be about REACH and IMPACT - Not Numbers!

All progress occurs because people dare to be different. Harry Millner

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. George Bernard Shaw.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Frederick Douglass.

I honestly prefer to be apart of a church with five members that reaches and impacts one hundred others in need, than to be apart of a church with three hundred members and barely reaches and impacts five who need help.

Church should be about REACH and IMPACT - Not Numbers!

We Love You and We Look Forward to continuing to minister to you in person at our activities and events, via our blogs, our emails, our smart phone messages, our flyers, our books, our mission trips etc. We're not about the money, we're about reaching, impacting and showing LOVE to others.
