29 year old radical Reverend Khrystus V. K. Wallace, Founder and President of Dare 2 Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com is taking senior citizen Oliver Spencer to task with his comments on Former Minister of Government Dwyer Astaphan's WINNFM - www.winnfm.com Operation Rescue talk show a few days ago.
Spencer suggested through his comments that The CHURCH is partly to BLAME for the crime situation in The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
“Where are we heading when we have a society where we’re living like we’re in the Wild West? I believe that if parents at an early age try to take control of their children, then some of what is happening can be avoided and prevented. I believe the church has failed our society, and when we say the church, we’re not looking at buildings, we’re looking at people who are members of the various churches.” commented Spencer.
Wallace refuted his statements and said, "From the very beginning of time, the CHURCH has done a lot and continues to do more than enough locally, regionally and internationally. While I must confess that there is much DISUNITY amongst churches and its pastors across religious border lines, churches everywhere continue to execute programs on a continual basis to keep youths not only positively occupied but also spiritually grounded and guided."
Wallace continued, "I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Spencer as a senior citizen, so I don't want to OVER TALK here and get a jail for my mouth again so I can sue again. But I just want to ask Mr. Spencer one question. While you are publicly condemning the church for not doing enough, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON A PERSONAL LEVEL TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE OR TO EVEN SPONSOR YOUTH PROGRAMS? WHAT ARE YOU DOING SIR?"
"I barely listen to talk shows anymore because 95% of the people are just calling in and condemning our young people and banging their mouths because they have nothing else to do with their time and they are not doing anything to help them. Nothing at all."
"Society must realize that although Pastors are ordained by God to help others, PASTORS have a life too. Pastors are REAL people. Pastors have to make time to LOVE their partners and spend time with their families. Pastors are not robots."
"People barely lookout for pastors and even encourage them, but expect them to perform miracles. Pastors want to have fun too and relax too and so society on a whole must remember that while the CHURCH has a duty, TRAINING OF CHILDREN SHOULD START AT THE HOME LEVEL. I repeat, PROPER TRAINING OF CHILDREN MUST START AT THE HOME LEVEL. While pastors are caretakers appointed to do GOD's work, they could never do the job of a MOTHER or FATHER of someone else's child. So I honestly think that Mr. Spencer should take his MOUTH off THE CHURCH. Seriously!"
