Sister DIANNE is my FAVORITE Customs and Border Control Officer in The Federation of St. Kitts - Nevis and I highly RECOMMEND her for service anywhere around the world.
By now, I guess, you've learned me very, very, very well. If I have to say something about you good or bad, no matter your church, political persuasion or anything else, I'm going to say it and I am not afraid to say it publicly.
Note well too, if I ever pause from my busy schedule to write and ever say something GOOD about you, that means I have carved out a special place in my heart for you because you are rare and dare to me.
I first came to meet Sister Dianne, as we'll call her throughout this article, now a Senior Customs and Border Control Officer in The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis some twelve (12) years ago.
It was the first time that I had ever ordered and shipped a case of seventy-two white shirts to The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis from a U.S.A supplier. I had always been an internet freak and risk taker and I had found a way, when I just started my printing business as a little boy, UNREGISTERED to start connecting with people globally through the internet via Hotmail, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Ebay, win their hearts and convince them to do business with me even though I was under eighteen (18) years of age - THEY JUST LOVED ME AND WANTED TO HELP ME in what ever little way. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
When I received word from the agent in St. Kitts that a package had arrived for me at The Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw Airport and I could come for the paper work and clear the items, I was overly elated. I honestly didn't tell my parents or older brothers or any family member or friend what I was doing though.
Why? Just in case I lost the money that I had mailed overseas using a money order since I didn't have access to a debit or credit card then, I didn't want them to say, "IT SUIT YOU. YOU LIKE PLAY TOO MUCH OF BIG MAN AND YOU SHOULDA ASK FOR HELP."
Where did I get money from as a little boy? Remember I was always entering competitions and winning money since attending The Dr. William Connor Primary School.
When the shirts came and I got word that they were actually in St. Kitts - Nevis, that weight was lifted off my shoulders. I still didn't want my family to know what I was doing, so I figured out how I would get to The Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw Airport as a little boy. I honestly knew where it was because I was fortunate enough to travel up and down St. Kitts with my father, Mr. Jefferson Wallace as he conducted lectures for the Ministry of Health as Senior Health Educator or when he was Director of Youth and Community Affairs and holding activities throughout the different communities.
Therefore, here's what I did. I caught a bus to Basseterre and walked all the way to the airport to clear the shirts. Because I grew up hardly using the public transport system, I HONESTLY DIDN'T KNOW THAT THERE WAS A BUS STOP AT BAKER'S CORNER - ST. KITTS.
It was at The Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw Airport, I met Sister Dianne. I remember her very well, from the baffled and amazed look that she gave me when I told her what I was here to do and presented her with paper work in my name and YES - I HAD PRINTED ON THE PAPER WORK - KVK ENTERPRISES. (I wasn't even registered. I was just a little boy full of a lot of faith)
Being a bit inquisitive, she asked me my age and then she didn't discriminate when I told her I was FIFTEEN (15), I saw that she developed a FRESH RESPECT FOR ME EVER SINCE - even up to TODAY - when I saw her minutes ago. I actually didn't see her, SHE SAW ME and MAAAAAAAAAAAN - DID SHE LOOK FINE. lol. Hence my FRESH AND FIRST EVER PICTURE WITH HER. (I kinda wish I was older) sweeteye!
Now back to our article!
Having done her job and asked me what I was going to do with so many shirts importing into the Federation, and having told her that I got my first MAJOR job to print T-shirts for My Graduating Class of 2002 from Mr. Elvis Richardson, the then head teacher of The Verchilds High School, she treated me like her SON and helped me out. (LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT! I had to pay ALL TAXES THOUGH - she didn't COMPROMISE!)
She asked me how I was going to get back to Boyds with so many shirts and if I had transport and I told her I was catching a BUS. Back then, I thought that TAXIs were just for WHITE PEOPLE VISITING OUR COUNTRIES (Forgive my use of English, I in no way mean to be racist or discriminatory.)
Therefore, just as I got the airport, I got back home. I walked with a box of shirts from The Robert Llewllyn Bradshaw Airport right down to the West Side Bus Terminal and then caught a bus back to my hometown Boyds Village. (Of course stopping periodically with that heavy box and wishing that none of my Parent's friends saw me. lol)
When I got home with a box of seventy two shirts that I had ordered via the internet - I HAD WON THE HEARTS OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS who were so very fearful of conducting major internet transactions. I guess it was that respect that boosted my confidence to grow into an INTERNET GENIUS.
I've always been a WARRIOR and a FIGHTER. It's just that I avoid using GUNS AND KNIVES AND BOMBS as the CIVILIZED fight the CIVILIZED WAY!
Since that first transaction with the luscious and beautiful Sister Dianne, she helped me every time I ordered supplies and shirts and she was the CUSTOMS OFFICER that cleared my screen printing machines and my embroidery machine and supplies for a long, long, long time when they were imported over the years as GOD WOULD HAVE IT.
She was also the customs officer that taught me how to write up and calculate my own CUSTOMS ENTRY FORM and save a lot of money over the years. Sister Dianne has always been like a MOTHER TO ME and when she was shifted and even promoted, I missed her a whole lot. THAT'S THE TRUTH!
I told her that several times when she left. I REALLY MISSED HER and then some new customs officers that I had to deal with, NOT ALL did turn me off and force me to WISH THAT A SISTER DIANNE WAS AT EVERY ST. KITTS - NEVIS BORDER POINT.
She etched an indelible mark on my heart and gave me my first lesson in WHAT SUPERB AND PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE.
I don't know her future plans as yet, but I know for sure that in the future, WITHOUT APPLICATION, Sister Dianne would be able to come and sit in the BOSS LADY SEAT at KVK ENTERPRISES - www.kvklives.com in St. Kitts - Nevis, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Florida, New York, Kenya, Ghana and The United Kingdom as that is the short term vision for my company AND CALL THE SHOTS. I do have that much CONFIDENCE IN HER.
Also, I know and she knows that at ANY TIME, she can also come and sit in the BOSS LADY seat at Dare 2 Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com or The Blazing Star Movement - www.theblazingstarmovement.com and CALL THE SHOTS TOO.
Sister Dianne is a KVK ENTERPRISES FAN for over 12 years and she lives in a special UNFORGETTABLE CORNER IN MY HEART. (Sometimes when I think of her, I pause and wonder and question GOD asking, "Why Lord, did you have to make the GEMS OF LADIES so much older than me?"
Now do you see why you should treat EVERYONE - including little children with PROFESSIONALISM and not DISCRIMINATE? Why? Simply because you NEVER know where they would reach in the future and what they would be able to SAY or WRITE about YOU and send it ALL OVER THE WORLD.
NB: It was from that first PROFESSIONAL CONTACT WITH SISTER DIANNE over 12 years ago, that gave her the POWER, when she wanted a part time job and some business exposure for one of her twin sons at KVK ENTERPRISES - www.kvklives.com, she didn't even have to ASK - she just SENT HIM.
WHEN YOU HAVE POWER AND INFLUENCE - YOU REALLY HAVE POWER AND INFLUENCE!
