Over 15 New Business Owners for St. Kitts-Nevis Thanks to Khrystus Wallace - P.E.P Trainer

19th March, 2013
Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies

Just a few hours ago, over eighteen (18) People's Empowerment Project (P.E.P) Trainees that were attached to Khrystus Wallace before he took up his new political ambition left all happy, smiling and excited and couldn't wait for next Tuesday from 1pm - 4pm to come around again.

Khrystus Wallace Consulting - www.kwconsultingskn.com was contracted to teach three (3) hours of Information Technology and Entrepreneurship combined per week. Wallace, noticing that the time was limited with him, decided to combine the course into one subject and call it I.T in Entrepreneurship.

His idea was to teach the participants Entrepreneurship with a practical hands on approach and let them learn to use the computer by typing up their own business letters, designing marketing flyers, business cards, websites, printing,  browsing the internet for products that they may want to order for their business and letting them order online using their debit cards and ship through www.shopandshipskn.com

Wallace, who is about 4 weeks into the program said that after spending about three (3) weeks motivating, guiding  and introducing the participants to his New Approach, he thought they were more than ready to begin the full aspect of his customized project on this the 4th week.

Upon arrival, Wallace guided the students through Part 1 of the his custom project.

During this activity, we will use both the Computer and our Entrepreneurial Ideas to complete this project

1.      Form groups of 5

2.      Come up with a business idea and concept for your group

3.      Come up with a business name

4.      Design a Business Card

5.      Design a Logo

6.      Put together a radio commercial and record it

7.      Design a Flyer

8.      Print / Embroider Logo

9.      Group Presentation

10.  Grading

Wallace briefly introduced each group to the concept of designing a business card and flyer in Microsoft Publisher and how to design a logo in Corel Draw - a highly recommended and professional graphics design software used by many International Graphic Artists and printing firms. Each participant will then learn how to either press on, screen print or embroider their business groups logo on their shirt themselves in the upcoming week.

Wallace told the students that each of these skills was a business by themself and earlier in his life, he started out designing and printing business cards for EC$1 / US$0.37 each in High School and made a comfortable income from Contractors and small business owners especially.

Participants decided that groups of 6 would be much better since 3 students were absent and quickly formed three businesses.

A Cleaning Business, A Pastry Business and a Clothing Business. Wallace, a motivational speaker told the participants that the P.E.P program had an end date, but if they either continued working together or decided to take the skills they learn individually and start their own business, they can be assured of an income for life as while cars could be stolen and houses foreclosed on, SKILLS  WERE  ASSETS  THAT  NO  ONE  COULD  TAKE  AWAY.

Wallace, who studied Sales and Marketing always puts a special effort into this topic, as he loves teaching this area of Entrepreneurship the MOST.

One of the most exciting parts of the session came when participants (young and mature) had to work on the Marketing Aspect of their group business together. They had to creatively work together and come up with an Advertisement and then go to Lemercius  Wallace's DJ Merci - www.djmerci.com (Khrystus' Brothers) studio and record the advert.

Each group presented theirs quite differently and quite creatively. It was recorded and saved as an MP3 File for their group presentation in about two - three weeks where Government Officials and members of the public would be invited to see the products and potential of those that once sat at home without jobs.

Khrystus looked on and took some BlackBerry Video Clips for them to see how they were doing and to share with the world and show that many of the folks that are at home without a job in St. Kitts-Nevis and around the globe, have  alot of potential beyond compare and highly recommended his participants for permanent jobs around the globe.

"Youths and non working adults just need the right persons to pull out their talent and showcase it to the world. They just need to be around the right people who would encourage, motivate, train and hold them step by step and teach them to walk in the world of Entrepreneurship.

This is something no one ever did with me. I didn't come from a home of entrepreneurs so I had to learn everything the hard way. Bankers only called when there was a problem. No loan officer ever cared so I try to help new entrepreneurs around the world through this phase with my firm - www.kwconsultingskn.com

When ever one gets around me, rest assured, as long as they give me the OK - I'll pull every bit of talent out of them and motivate and push them to the top - even if they pass me in the process. Leaders should always be excited when those under them rise above them and soar." said Khrystus.

When asked for a closing statement, Wallace said, "I fully believe that since I have added a new ambition to my plate, this would be my only PEP Class unlike last time when I trained the most students in the Computer field in the YES PROGRAMME at my CompuDoctor Business - www.thecompudoctors.com  which now falls under The Dare 2 Be Different Academy - www.daretobedifferentacademy.com

Therefore, it is my desire to ensure that 5 years from now or 10 or 20 years from now, when history asks which PEP participants reached the furthest in life and accomplished the most from The Government Run P.E.P Programme that started in 2013, I want to ensure that my name and Consulting Firm's name was called and others wished that they were attached to me when they see what my 3 hour a week group is accomplishing.

Therefore, since things are slow and with so much time on my hands, I will ensure that all 21 participants attached to me not only learn computer and entrepreneurship, but learn as many of my skills that they want. Emroidery, Screen Printing, Press On, Mug Printing, Mousepads, Craft, Keychains, Banners, Signs, Website Design, Graphics Design, Playing the Guitar, Keyboard, Cooking, Fixing Computers etc.

I want when I am half way across the world and I get a BlackBerry Message for an Embroidery or Screen Printing order after hours when employees are home, I can just call one or two or three out of the 21 to get an overtime job and feel comfortable being in India preaching a crusade, that they can handle my expensive embroidery machine without any type of doubt or fear in my life.

When they get training with me, they will  be able to ask for a job in my fields else where and with me as a reference, I will highly recommend them once I know they can perform. Therefore, they would have a variety of areas to seek employment, not just in Hospitality - they course they are attached to.

I am never threatened to teach my skill. God has blessed me with a unique marketing charisma which allows me to fit in anywhere in the world. What makes me happiest in life is to know that I would have HELPED and IMPACTED and done my GOOD to help make the world a better place and help motivate and inspire not only youths but adults too."

Wallace has already helped over 95% of his current PEP students write their business plans and start doing financial projection talks. They were most delighted when he told them that he was going to give them extra time after his assigned hours on an individual basis to help them start their small businesses and would even accompany them to loan appointments for support.

A client of Wallace that passed by to do some other business and spent some time watching him train his students commented, "Boy, you really does go all out with people eh. If they gave you the entire P.E.P Project to run, you would have made over 1000 entrepreneurs in St. Kitts - Nevis and the world would be looking to us in St. Kitts NEvis when ever they needed new and fresh minds with your type of energy. No one can tek dat from you boy. You just good! Real good with youths and adults too! Keep up the good work and this PEP Group going reach the furthest as long as they leave them with you and the students stick with you because you know how tings be around dis place."

Khrystus Wallace is also contracted to teach Entrepreneurship to school leavers in two rural schools (Verchilds High and Charles E. Mills Secondary) in St. Kitts under the AGANAR Funded Project for 1 and 1/4 hours each Friday. Wallace said that he was also aiming to help as many of these students start small businesses as the course approaches the end in a few weeks, hence more small businesses for the nation again.

He said this was critically important that the nation gets them occupied now, or they would increase the unemployment rate and probably become menaces to society and create more work for law enforcement.

Wallace, who has hells and devils getting local funding (www.khrystuswallace.com) in a Federation that seemingly cares about boosting its struggling economy, said that it would be the very same thing for the youths too, so he has been instilling in the fourth formers the concept of WORKING  TOGETHER  IN  CLUBS  OR  COOPERATIVES.

Wallace proposed that each school group work together as a club hold fundraisers and then fund small individual  or partnership businesses from the funds they would have raised. He has taught the students that the monies would have to be repaid back to the club at a small interest rate which would keep the idea sustainable and always provide access to working capital which is the reason why most small businesses close.

In teaching the concept, Khrystus always continued to underscore the point of the team working together, continuing to keep fundraisers to grow the working capital base and ensuring that full accountability keeps all members happy.

Khrystus goes beyond the call of duty with this Aganar group and accommodates them at his homebased business after hours (UNPAID) just to help them further.

He truly has a heart for seeing the youth excel.
