"More people need to study Disaster Management. Not only is it a very high paying job around the world, it is one of the best ways to help humanity!" said Mrs. Telca Wallace, Districts Coordinator at The National Emergency Management Agency - N.E.M.A.

At a meeting held on Wednesday, 16th April, 2014 at The Bronte Welsh Primary School in Boyds, Mrs. Wallace made that statement after being given an opportunity to speak by the chair. The special District 3 meeting was aimed at establishing an Emergency Quick Response Team in the Boyds, West Farm and Palmetto Point area that is managed by Ras Dabo Penny.

Mrs. Wallace along with her colleagues Ras Dabo Penny and Ms. Nadia St. Catherine, all ably spoke and inspired the attendees about what their aim and mission was, and what they wanted to see happening in that area of the country.

"We don't want to wait until a disaster comes to start preparing. We must start preparing NOW, so that when disasters hit, we are prepared." said Ras Dabo Penny while addressing the gathering.

He continued, "There are a lot of talks now about earthquakes coming and tsunamis too. What if a sudden disaster hits the community today? What are you going to do if that happens? How would we quickly evacuate the elderly and get the children to higher ground or safer areas? This is why we are pushing to setup as many of these Emergency Response teams around the Federation and we are providing training too. I am happy to see this gathering here today and this is a sign that we are well on our way to a great start and a great team."

Mrs. Wallace, along with Ms. Nadia St. Catherine, took time out to tell the gathering about what some of the training entailed and promised to get District Three into their first readiness training exercise shortly.

All in all, this effort by Districts Coordinator Mrs. Telca Wallace and her team that consisted of Ras Dabo Penny and Ms. Nadia St. Catherine must be highly lauded and is certainly highly congratulated and endorsed by KVK ENTERPRISES - The Caribbean's T-shirt Printers - www.kvklives.com, Dare 2 Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com and The Blazing Star Movement - The Federation's 1st Godly Youth Political Party that will certainly continue to take the twin-nation FORWARD!

We certainly wish District 3 Quick Response Emergency Team the very best!
