Under the more than abled leadership of Ms. Avonelle Martin, Head Teacher of The Deane Glasford Primary School, a store room was successfully converted into a library at the school and officially opened today Thursday, 6th May, 2015 as one of the many activities scheduled for SMART MONTH 2015.
Weeks of hard work and preparation for the first ever HISTORIC SMART MONTH CELEBRATIONS culminated during the early morning hours of today and Senior Education Officer Mrs. Debbie Isaac was on hand to oversee and ensure that everything ran smoothly and perfectly.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. Kristy Daniel who did a spectacular job.
If you ever want someone to do a sterling job at singing the National Anthem of The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, then I make no reservations in highly recommending Miss Shantel Edwards. (I think I may be registering for her singing classes very soon)
What is a ceremony without invoking God's presence? Deputy Head Teacher Sister Sonia Maillard interceded on the school's behalf.
The Female Teaching Soldier, Veteran and Head Teacher Ms. Avonelle Martin gave the opening remarks after which the profiles of the individuals who the new library would be named after were read.
Aydiel Tuckett read the profile of past teacher Mrs. McKoy-Saunders and Ms. Jamila Henry read the profile of Mrs. Eldora Samuel.
Three angelic voices from Grade 6 lifted their voices and sang a Godly song quite melodiously. If so many people were not watching, I would have stolen them and registered them to join my church just to sing at each service. THEY WERE TOTALLY AMAZING! They honestly DESERVE A GRAMMY AWARD!
Senior Education Officer Mrs. Debbie Isaac then gave her short remarks congratulating the school on its newest accomplishment and encouraged the students to use the library regularly and make a reading a daily habit if they wanted to reach very far and succeed in life.
With the absence of the individuals who the library was being named after, a McKoy son did the honours of cutting the ribbon, unveiling the name and taking a fruit basket for his mother.
In closing, I know I can personally say this because this individual is my main point of contact for the school, approved by Head Teacher Martin. (Not because she attended my alma mata, The Verchilds High School Eh), but the more than hardworking Ms. Amoy Nisbett humbly did a sterling job at presenting the Vote of Thanks. MUAH! MUAH! MUAH!
What a morning! I'm happy that I took time out to mix and mingle with The Deane Glasford Primary School in St. Peters - St. Kitts. If you can't find me at KVK ENTERPRISES - www.kvklives.com this month, I'll be investing my time with the students from this school. I give and spread my LOVE to all.
